Gemini Men

Gemini Men has two members’ sections; don’t let that confuse you. Once you sign in, you’ll enter into the new members’ area and find a link to the old one on the home page. The old area contains mainly image galleries of the guys with links to where you’d buy the DVDs they appear in. Some of the links were off-line, there were 10 pages of guys listed, I could only get into seven of them. I found about 175 sets, both solos and couples in action. The action ones appeared as screen caps and the solos were a medium size. I got the impression that Gemini Men started out in one concept but morphed into something better. So it’s the new version of the site that I’m concentrating on; don’t forget the hunky guys in the old sections when you join, they’re just as sexy.

On the main home page you’ll find some welcome messages and links. You can click straight over to meet over 200 straight men doing some very non-straight things and you can link over to the DVD store where you’ll find around 150 titles to buy. But the main part of the membership is found by clicking the ‘new site’ link at the top and here, finally, you’ll find the content you’re looking for.

There were 197 videos when I was in the site and each one is reped by thumbnails and the models’ names. Clicking one you’re taken to the main page for that movie where you’ll find the details and content that you need to start really enjoying yourself. There were high and lower quality/bandwidth movies to download and these were all Windows Media Player, version 10. If you don’t have that, then don’t worry, you’re also provided with a link to a place where you can download the software needed. File sizes ranged from 30 Mbs for a lower quality version to 200 Mbs and more for the higher one so you’ll need to be on a fast connection to get the best quality quickly, or else be prepared to wait. I couldn’t find any streaming options on the pages so it looks like downloads are the only choice you have. These individual movie pages also provide you with sets of thumbnails that lead to larger stills from the show, 398 x 600 in size as an average, and there are some details about the models to be found here too; such as names, age, date of posting and a short text description.

So the technicalities are reasonable, though a streaming option, or clips for us impatient people would be a nice feature to have. But what about the guys? Are they really straight hunks doing gay things as we’re promised? Well, I can’t prove that they’re straight and I can’t prove that they’re not. You do get some clues in the action videos though and this is where I had a bit of a problem. Actually it was the soundtrack on a couple of the movies that I sampled that was the problem as the director can be heard giving orders to the cast, and that always puts me off. It may go some way to prove that these are genuine amateur guys but hearing a guy being told where to stand, what to do with his dick and hearing the director’s mumblings is a bit distracting and not very professional. Some simple musical soundtrack would have helped as would no verbal direction at all. On the other hand there were some scenes that didn’t have the director giving orders and these were much easier on the ear.

There was also something very dark about the movies and images, dark in terms of lighting and background. This gives a certain amount of atmosphere but having so much of the content shot against black backdrops, or in rooms with black furnishings, makes for repetition so when you do get the occasional outdoors movie of photo shoot it really stands out. As for the kinds or types of men you can expect to see at Gemini Men , well they’re from the amateur, guy-next-door niche: there are older (30’s and 40’s) guys, some with body hair and tattoos, shaven headed guys and men who work out. You have a variety of facial hair, some with very smooth bodies and some who are younger, in their 20’s. A good and varied collection of ‘normal’ looking men would just about sum it up.

After sampling some images and videos I checked the other links available at the top of each page and found access to a Pay Per View Theatre and a link over to the DVD store where you can buy hard copied of the movies for around $30.00.

So, all in all, Gemini Men is not a bad site for amateur and straight looking guys jacking off in solo scenes, jacking each other off and playing with toys. It comes across as being dark and moody but the quality is generally decent, though the lower quality downloads are best avoided. Don’t forget the content in the rather clumsy, old members’ area and check back in for the promised updates.
